Billie Eilish Concert Film ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ Footage Sings At CinemaCon

The 3D concert film Hit Me Hard and Soft, which captures superstar Billie Eilish’s most recent tour for her third studio album, landed at CinemaCon Thursday as Paramount rolled out its upcoming slate.

The importance of concert films to the overall box office in recent years can’t be overstated and this is a real star machine, co-directed by Eilish and Avatar helmer James Cameron. It debuts May 8. The duo unveiled footage for the room only. The duo were on the Vegas stage sharing thoughts on the concert and the film, which Cameron produced with technology that’s never been used before, “No one has shot a concert film on this scale.”

Eilish said “my fans are everything and they all deserve something very special, a VIP experience, whether they can make it to my concerts or not. The footage cuts from the singer largely on stage, also backstage and pressing the flesh. With the 3D glasses, you “feel like you are right there.”

Captured during her sold-out world tour, “Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live In 3D)” brings an innovative new concert experience to the big screen from one of the most celebrated and successful artists of her generation.

The collaboration was first announced in the summer of 2025 by Eilish at her sold-out Co-op Live show in Manchester Saturday, July 19. She joked that she would likely be wearing the same outfit for the following three shows for the film’s continuity. Cameron was said to be in the audience that night, and the “Birds of a Feather” singer acknowledged the presence of more cameras than usual near the stage.

Hit Me Hard And Soft was nominated for seven Grammys in 2025, adding to the singer’s total 34 nominations. She has nine Grammys to her name as well as two Best Original Song Oscars: one for “What Was I Made For?” from Greta Gerwig’s billion-dollar grossing Barbie and the other for “No Time to Die” from the 2021 James Bond film. Both are shared with her brother, Finneas O’Connell.

R.J. Cutler made a documentary about Eilish titled The World’s A Little Blurry, which came out in 2021 for Apple.
