Neon Sets Christmas Day Release For Chloe Domont Thriller ‘A Place In Hell’

EXCLUSIVE: Neon has set a December 25 release date for its big winter film A Place in Hell written and directed by Chloe Domont and starring Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn, Blue Valentine), Daisy Edgar Jones (Twisters, On Swift Horses) and Andrew Scott (Ripley, upcoming Wake Up Dead Man).

It will unveil first footage of Domont’s follow-up to Fair Play on Tuesday at CinemaCon, the annual exhibition industry conference in Las Vegas.

A Place In Hell is produced by MRC and T-Street and cofinanced by Neon, MRC and Republic Pictures.

A cutthroat criminal defense attorney (Williams), on the verge of making partner, sees her ambitions upended when a younger lawyer (Edgar-Jones) is brought in to replace her. As rivalry escalates into a battle for control, the two women push one another to dangerous extremes.

Neon is coming off 18 Oscar nominations (and one win for Sentimental Value) and heading to Cannes with five films in competition: Na Hong-Jin’s Hope, Arthur Harari’s The Unknown, Cristian Mungiu’s Fjord, Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s All of a Sudden and Hirokazu Koreeda’s Sheep in the Box – as well as Nicolas Winding Refn’s Her Private Hell out of competition. The distributor has had the past six Palme d’Or winners.
