EXCLUSIVE: Neon has launched the digital release of Oliver Laxe’s Oscar-nominated Spanish feature Sirāt today and also revealed that the drama will be available on Blu-ray from May 19.
The home release announcement comes as the feature continues to screen in theatres across the U.S. where it has grossed $1.6M to date.
The film stars Sergi López (Pan’s Labyrinth) as a man who travels with his son to a rave deep in the mountains of southern Morocco in search of his daughter Mar, who vanished months ago at one of these endless, sleepless parties.
Surrounded by electronic music and a raw, unfamiliar sense of freedom, they hand out her photo again and again. Hope is fading, but they push through and follow a group of ravers heading to one last party in the desert. As they venture deeper into the burning wilderness, the journey forces them to confront their own limits.
Alongside directing, Laxe also co-wrote the screenplay with Santiago Fillol. The feature is produced by Domingo Corral, Laxe, Xavi Font, Pedro Almodóvar, Augustin Almodóvar, Esther Garcia, Oriol Mayme, Mani Mortazavi and Andrea Queralt.
The Blu-ray disc will feature exclusive interviews with director Laxe and López, and bonus content.
Rated 91% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, Sirāt world premiered in Cannes 2025 where it won the Jury Prize and has been picking up awards ever since.
It won five prizes at the European Film Awards, including Best Cinematography and Best Editing; the Fipresci Prize for Best International Feature at Palm Springs, the award for Best Foreign Language Film at the Toronto Film Critics Association, the award for Best Score at The Los Angeles Film Critics Association, as well as prizes at the Chicago and Montclair film festivals.
Sirāt is among five 2026 Oscar-nominated pictures on the Neon slate alongside Sentimental Value (which won best international feature film), The Secret Agent, It Was Just An Accident and Arco.
